McInnes reflects on heated exchange with referee after Rangers draw

Derek McInnes has spoken about his interaction with referee Nick Walsh following Rangers' draw with Dundee United.

The Ibrox manager made his way onto the pitch at full-time, where he was seen engaged in a fervent discussion with the match official.

McInnes believed that his team should have received a corner instead of a goal kick during the final moments of the game.

He appeared puzzled when Walsh signalled for a goal kick.

However, McInnes has acknowledged that he should not have gone onto the pitch, sharing details of his conversation with Walsh after the match.

"Yeah, I was thinking that," the Rangers manager remarked when asked if the non-corner decision affected his discussion with Walsh.

"I spoke to the referee and said that I shouldn’t have approached him on the pitch.

"I don’t know. It just looked like a corner, even from the player's reaction.

"But I shouldn’t have approached the ref on the pitch; I should've approached him in the referee room, as I did do at the end."
